NETA Resources: New England Textile Arts Network

The New England Textile Arts Network was founded in 2003, at the SPA, Knit and Spin gathering in Portland, Maine. Its members share two common passions: a love of fiber and a commitment to learn from and teach each other. This blog collects information about the hundreds of very special fiber vendors, artisans, guilds, farms, and events that make New England a truly special place to be. As you visit these places and meet these people, let this forum be your voice.

Welcome to the NETA Fiber Forum

This is your blog - it will be what you make of it.

Here, you will find contact and storefront information for literally hundreds of fiber-related resources. Heading to Burlington, VT and want to find out about the LYSs in the area? Click on the Vermont link to see all shops in VT, or use the search feature to find what you need.

Looking for someone to shear your sheep?
Process your fleece?
Sell you an alpaca?
You'll find them here too.

All fiber-related vendors in New England are welcome to send us your information to make available here. The best way to do that (for now) will be to post a message on the NETA Yahoo group. If you aren't a member of the group already, you should be! Sign up!

And here's the cool part. For each vendor, YOU consumers out there will be able to tell the rest of us about your experiences. If your favorite fiber fair or store is listed, feel free to leave comments about them. All comments are moderated, because we want this information to be useful and timely for you.

Unproductive criticism or unnecessarily rude comments will not be posted. We want honesty, but with tact, OK?
Your suggestions for content will be heartily accepted.

yarn - Selections from Encyclopaedia Britannica

Have Information to Share, Corrections?

Now that the blog is up and running, we have received a few requests for additional entries, for resources / vendors / stores that aren't listed yet. We would be glad to do that, if you give us the information - or better yet, have the business / farm / website owner send us an email and provide all the details.

The blog administrators certainly will maintain information provided, but we just don't have the time to go out and collect information too. The original source of all this information is the resources list as posted in the NETA Yahoo groups mailing list website, in the Files section. If it isn't there, it isn't here - we'll add new information to both places as soon as we get it. Thanks to all for your use of this blog - we hope it will be particularly useful as you plan yarn crawls and field trips.
